How Does Machine Vision Industrial Camera Work?

  • Positioning

First, the workpiece positioning detector detects whether the object is moving or approaching the center of the camera system's field of view.

  • Acquisition

If it is within this range, a trigger pulse signal is sent to the image acquisition section. The image acquisition part sends the start-up pulse to the camera and lighting system according to the steps and delays pre-set by the designer.

  • Frame Scan

The camera stops the current scan and restarts a new frame scan, or the camera waits before the start pulse arrives and starts the frame scan after the start pulse arrives.

  • Recive

After the camera is exposed, the scanning and output of a frame of image begins. The image acquisition part receives the analog video signal and digitizes it via A/D, or directly receives the digital video data digitized by the camera.

Machine Vision Industrial Camera Selection Guide

  • Resolution and Sensor Size

The choice of resolution and sensor size greatly impacts the clarity and accuracy of image capture. Higher resolutions and larger sensor sizes allow for superior image quality and enhanced detail, making them ideal for industries that require meticulous inspection, such as electronics and automotive manufacturing.

  • Frame Rate

The frame rate of a machine vision camera determines the number of images it can capture per second. Industries that demand high-speed production lines, such as pharmaceutical and packaging, require cameras with fast frame rates to ensure efficient and accurate inspections.

  • Lighting Considerations

Adequate lighting is crucial for effective machine vision applications. Lano Technology offers cameras with diverse lighting capabilities, including low light sensitivity and adjustable exposure settings, ensuring optimal image quality even in challenging lighting conditions.
